laughing in the face of silence...

Hooray! Another pound gone, so that's 5 pounds in total for the weight loss challenge so far. Everyone's been really generous with the sponsorship so far and I hope to get more as I go on!

Well ... laughing in the face of silence, ok it's kind of a going mad kind of laugh, as some of you may know, I've had bad laryngitis for the past week and the doctor has advised total vocal rest. Absolutely nothing. I seriously didn't realise how much I chatted and sang! I'm not sure how much benefit has done me, as I've still got a really bad throat, and talking will resume on Wednesday... but hopefully the throat will be on the mend soon.

I'm really happy with this week's loss... it's been easy this week without alcohol as I've had to avoid that too, and also as it's the week before payday there's been a few tuna veg rice dishes which are always helpful! Started the week with the Chiswick Farmers Market & the fabulous Rock Choir, and got some lovely russet apples there which have done for snacks this week, they're yummy. This week - I've got to look forward to my last week at work, the first rock choir rehearsal of the new term & also going to see Would I Lie to You with Lee Mack & David Mitchell! Woop woop!

Weight loss challenge plans... exercise Tues, Thurs & one day of the weekend, and keep sticking with the Weight Watchers points. Mind you now I'm in the 14's, I have to reduce them... so it's 23 from this week on. It'll be grand though! Wish me luck :) Until next week.... x

Monday! :)

Okay so the first week of the challenge done and dusted, and I've done well (hooray!).- 15st exactly so 4 lbs off this week (and 4lbs in total). This week I have made loads of veggie soup, stocked up on the fruit and exercised three times this week... including squash on the Saturday. Also, whilst out and about... no wine but gin and slimline tonic... very elegant hey.... :)
The first week of any weight loss is always quite easy (apart from the hunger), but I won't discredit it really as weight loss is still weight loss! Bring on week 2...

The First Weigh In...

So. Here's the first weigh-in. Shocking hey! Makes me even more determined to complete this challenge.

So overall this is what I want to achieve....
15st 4 - start weight
14st 11 - 0.5 stone loss
14st 4 - 1 stone loss
13st 11 - 1.5 stone loss
13st 4 - 2 stone loss
12st 11 - 2.5 stone loss
12st 4 - 3 stone loss

Obviously I could prob do with a bit more after that, but first things first and 3 stone in 6 months is going to be a physically and mentally demanding challenge!

But for myself and also for Willow Foundation should be a fantastic thing to do. I've cut down on Diet Coke already, have cut out sugar from my tea, am following weight watchers points and also plan to cut down my alcohol intake, whilst increasing the fruit and veggies and also the physical exercise.

Bring it on!!!

Willow Weight Loss Challenge Eve...

So, tonight's the night before the start of my weight loss challenge. After hearing of someone else who has decided to do a weight loss challenge for charity, I thought what better way to do a good thing & give myself a bit of motivation than to lose weight as a challenge for charity.

I know loads of you (and me) would love me to lose the weight, and really encourage me when I do... so here goes! I plan to weigh in every Monday evening and post the results on here so I can keep a record and also you can see how much weight I'm losing.

The aim is to lose 3 stone in 6 months... so that's 3 stone starting on April 12th and final weigh in on October 12th!

You can sponosr me at www.justgiving.com/emmey and wish me luck/give me encouragement anyhow you want to! (and believe me it is much appreciated!)
