Target achieved!

Time to crack open the champagne. Here is my final weigh in! I started off on the 11th April at 15st 4, and now, 6 months later... am 3 stone lighter at 12st 4. I feel fantastic! It's been a great boost also doing this for Willow Foundation, as they are benefiting from charitable donations as well as me benefiting from the fantastic weight loss! I am still losing weight, as I want to get down to 9st 10 in total... so still a way to go on my journey, but I wanted to prove to myself and others that I could do it, hence the willow challenge... I love doing things for charity, and thought this was a good idea! It's been a tough journey but really not so bad in the long run, and definitely worth it. x

this week's weigh in!

The sun's back today! Hooray! And Friday's weigh in was 12st 10 so another 2lbs gone. Hooray.
Although to be fair, my colleagues at work haven't been munching cake or anything yummy like that, instead they have been munching marmite sandwiches, so the temptation hasn't been there at all. Thank you workmates :)
It still makes me chuffed to see the scales constantly going down :)

Ooooh my gosh!

I'm in the 12's! How exciting is that? Answer: Very exciting. Well I am excited anyway. It's yet another milestone. Good news for the Willow Challenge too aswell, as only 8lbs to go before my target of 3 stone gone!
Going to have a few things to catch up on when I'm done - missed out on an awesome BBQ and other home cooked food recently, but it's all still worth it. In October I will be joining the gym at the uni I'm now working for (cheap staff rates) - and joining up at some lunchtime classes. Found a buddy to go with too, so that's all good! Got some fantastic exercise in this weekend just gone, we went to Anglesey and Cheshire - so lots of country, coastal walking and fresh air which was just fab. Bye for now!

2 stone gone!

Well, the good news is that I've now lost a huge 2 stone on my willow weight loss challenge! I am of course very pleased with my progress, it really isn't as easy as I pretend it is hehe. I am enjoying fitting in loads of new clothes and enjoying feeling and being fitter and healthier in general. Well, 7 weeks left to lose another stone, so 2lbs a week... wish me luck x

Hooray, another 2 pounds gone. It's very motivating seeing the scales go down, also I seem to have adopted a few new clothes from a work friend so it's good fitting into new stuff too! So, in total - I have lost 1st 12lbs in total... on my way to 2 stone! :)
This week was my birthday, I had a lovely day - they had cake at work but I didn't... I had my sparkly lemon and some soy balls instead! Had a lovely time this week too out in Guildford with friends & also to the zoo on Friday night with Carl. Can't wait to be in the 12's too! How good would that be?

Birthday Weigh In

Well the last weigh in before my birthday on Tuesday (woop!), and it is good news once again. Now down to 13st 8. Feeling great for it too. Had a lovely day today catching up with the two Claires, and is was so nice to see them. Borough Market was good last week too (even if I was on the tap & soda water...). Loving the weight loss. I'm fitting in loads of new (old!) clothes again now, which is fun. Thinking I may give the fat jeans to the charity shop so I don't have to wear them ever again.... All is good! x

Back again! :)

Well it's been two weeks, unfortunately last week I was up in Derbyshire, saying goodbye to my grandad. It was a nice service and good to see some of my family, but very sad. I managed to stick to the diet though (despite the buffet and copious amounts of alcohol being consumed by the Mosleys!) I weighed in last Thursday at 14st 1, and weigh in today Friday 30th July, I reached another milestone and am now 'in the 13's! For today's weigh in, I weighed in at 13st 12! A big blimmin woohooo for that! Feeling good and managing to now fit into some old clothes I haven't been able to fit in for a long time which is cool. Plus, time seems to be flying by, so hopefully by the end of the year I should be in pretty good shape. Good going. Enjoying my new job (which isn't so new anymore, been there a month already!) and really enjoying living with Carl. Even enjoying the diet - I'm missing quite a few yummy things though!

Ta da da da da (that was a fanfare incase you were wondering)

Look look look! :) Another 3lbs gone, and for the weight loss challenge in particular, it means I've lost the first stone of three. Congrats me (nothing like a bit of self praise). So all you doubters that haven't yet donated to the ever deserving Willow Foundation - look above and donate, whatever you can afford, that would be fab.
Happy with my weight loss so far and enjoying being able to fit into some clothes again. Off to Cambridge today for the weekend, looking forward to seeing the sights! New job going well, everyone really nice, and I'm busy already. Rock Choir going from strength to strength, we are number 19 in the official album charts! Anyhow, I'm off now to glug some more water, it really is good for you you know, believe the hype. Take Care and until next week... be good! x

I'm not a bloggy person!

I suddenly realised I feel rubbish at writing blogs so am just going to mumble along, no change there then....!!!! Well stepped on the scales yesterday morning and some more pounds have been lost! Now I'm 14st 5, so overall 13lbs lost on the challenge so far, so approaching my first stone gone. I've cut out diet coke, alcohol and crisps amongst other things for the time being on my little diet plan.. and it's going well so far!! Bring on next week when I should hit my first stone loss, and maybe soon even go into the 13's.

Sunday, 4 July 2010

hello again!

long time no speak, I know... a lack of motivation amongst other things like starting the new job, going away etc got in the way. Back on track now though. Started a meal replacement plan, and even though it's been tough I've been definitely getting into the swing of things and bizarrely quite enjoying it! Day 3 and all going well so far. I'm going to blog again on Friday as that will be the next weigh in day. Far too ashamed to put my weight as of last Friday, especially after Glastonbury's overindulgence! :) So.. Friday 9th July... will be back!!

Wooohooo for the Bank Holiday!

hey people :) Ok another week gone - and another pound lost this week. So 9lbs gone in total since beginning the challenge. To be honest I'm a little gutted as last week I stayed the same, and this week I only lost a pound but to be fair I guess it's going the right way - and these things are never easy!
So this week has been fairly quiet, I'll hopefully start my new job soon which will keep me occupied. I've got a bit of exercise in this week - playing some badminton and squash with the lovely Mr B. Food wise has been okay, a few good choices, a few questionable choices, but all ok. Water consumption ok too. Gawd, this dieting lark is hard isn't it hehe. Still, onwards and upwards (or should that be downwards!) x

another one bites the dust...

ooooh I did it again! One more gone, so making 8lbs in total over 5 weeks... now on to another week of the challenge....

Monday Monday

... and the most relaxing Monday morning I've had in a long while! After the first week of unemployment was taken up with lots of travelling around and job interviews... resulting in a job offer (woohoo!), I can now spend some of my time actually relaxing and catching up with stuff! It was a nice weekend, Sunday Roast, Bowling and horror films with Carl! :)
Well as you can see from the piccie on the left, and the ticker up top, tis been a good week on the weight loss challenge. Another 2 pounds off, so that's my first half stone in total. :) Happy Days!! Did a bit of walking this week (fun with my nike sensor), and also been careful with what I've been eating and drinking. And it's paid off. Go me! :)

Bank Holiday - busy busy girlie!

Well here we go! :) Here's my blog for this week. Apologies for the late-ness of it. I have been such a busy girlie it's untrue....
So I weighed in after the bank holiday weekend and I have stayed the same. Moving on to next week now! Still 5lbs gone in total. The staying the same is probably down to much alcohol consumed on my work leaving do and a massive chinese on the Monday!
Well I've been very very busy... we had a good game of squash at the weekend, my backhand is improving... shame about my serve. It's good fun though! I've also got a new little gadget with my ipod touch, the nike i plus sensor. This has been keeping a record of many km's i've covered and how many calories i've burnt on the move. It's quite groovy!
On the food front, a bit more fish & veg rather than the chinese this week! It's been quite nice actually having some money in order to buy some proper food.. makes it a lot easier to eat heathily.
So - on to next week, until next Monday! See you then...

laughing in the face of silence...

Hooray! Another pound gone, so that's 5 pounds in total for the weight loss challenge so far. Everyone's been really generous with the sponsorship so far and I hope to get more as I go on!

Well ... laughing in the face of silence, ok it's kind of a going mad kind of laugh, as some of you may know, I've had bad laryngitis for the past week and the doctor has advised total vocal rest. Absolutely nothing. I seriously didn't realise how much I chatted and sang! I'm not sure how much benefit has done me, as I've still got a really bad throat, and talking will resume on Wednesday... but hopefully the throat will be on the mend soon.

I'm really happy with this week's loss... it's been easy this week without alcohol as I've had to avoid that too, and also as it's the week before payday there's been a few tuna veg rice dishes which are always helpful! Started the week with the Chiswick Farmers Market & the fabulous Rock Choir, and got some lovely russet apples there which have done for snacks this week, they're yummy. This week - I've got to look forward to my last week at work, the first rock choir rehearsal of the new term & also going to see Would I Lie to You with Lee Mack & David Mitchell! Woop woop!

Weight loss challenge plans... exercise Tues, Thurs & one day of the weekend, and keep sticking with the Weight Watchers points. Mind you now I'm in the 14's, I have to reduce them... so it's 23 from this week on. It'll be grand though! Wish me luck :) Until next week.... x

Monday! :)

Okay so the first week of the challenge done and dusted, and I've done well (hooray!).- 15st exactly so 4 lbs off this week (and 4lbs in total). This week I have made loads of veggie soup, stocked up on the fruit and exercised three times this week... including squash on the Saturday. Also, whilst out and about... no wine but gin and slimline tonic... very elegant hey.... :)
The first week of any weight loss is always quite easy (apart from the hunger), but I won't discredit it really as weight loss is still weight loss! Bring on week 2...

The First Weigh In...

So. Here's the first weigh-in. Shocking hey! Makes me even more determined to complete this challenge.

So overall this is what I want to achieve....
15st 4 - start weight
14st 11 - 0.5 stone loss
14st 4 - 1 stone loss
13st 11 - 1.5 stone loss
13st 4 - 2 stone loss
12st 11 - 2.5 stone loss
12st 4 - 3 stone loss

Obviously I could prob do with a bit more after that, but first things first and 3 stone in 6 months is going to be a physically and mentally demanding challenge!

But for myself and also for Willow Foundation should be a fantastic thing to do. I've cut down on Diet Coke already, have cut out sugar from my tea, am following weight watchers points and also plan to cut down my alcohol intake, whilst increasing the fruit and veggies and also the physical exercise.

Bring it on!!!

Willow Weight Loss Challenge Eve...

So, tonight's the night before the start of my weight loss challenge. After hearing of someone else who has decided to do a weight loss challenge for charity, I thought what better way to do a good thing & give myself a bit of motivation than to lose weight as a challenge for charity.

I know loads of you (and me) would love me to lose the weight, and really encourage me when I do... so here goes! I plan to weigh in every Monday evening and post the results on here so I can keep a record and also you can see how much weight I'm losing.

The aim is to lose 3 stone in 6 months... so that's 3 stone starting on April 12th and final weigh in on October 12th!

You can sponosr me at www.justgiving.com/emmey and wish me luck/give me encouragement anyhow you want to! (and believe me it is much appreciated!)
